Why Owning a Smart Home Is On My Bucket List

It wasn’t long ago that I wanted to own a smart home. I have since upgraded my thoughts. I no longer want a smart home; I feel like I need to have one. The desire is so strong that I have added owning a smart home to my bucket list. It is news hunt actually quite near the top.

Perhaps I sound crazy, but that’s who I am. Every time I learn something new about smart home technology, it only increases my desire to join the party. What has stopped me from taking the plunge thus far? Three things:

    • A lack of time (I want to build the system myself)
    • Limited financial resources (I am not rich)
    • Big tech wariness (I am the suspicious sort).

As I approach retirement, I will have the time to devote to implementing smart home strategies. As for my financial resources and big tech wariness, I am india songs finding ways to overcome both. Still, none of this explains why I want to own a smart home intensely enough to put it on my bucket list.

    I Am Partially Disabled

I am a partially disabled individual with a neurological condition that makes moving around the house difficult under some circumstances. For example, it is very risky for me to attempt to walk without sufficient lighting. It would be fantastic to be able to speak a word and turn the lights on.

As things currently stand, we need to have nightlights on in strategic locations while we sleep – just in case I need to get up quickly. The light makes it difficult for my wife to sleep soundly. With smart lighting, we could eliminate the nightlights. Any need for me to get up quickly could be preceded by a simple command to turn on the light.

    I Love Saving Money

Like yu, I really love saving money. I also hate wasting it. A little research has convinced me that installing a smart thermostat and some smart window blinds could definitely reduce my utility bills. Smart window blinds are still fairly new but, according to Vivint Smart Home, the smart thermostat has been around for a while now. Its technology is pretty firmly established.

The one thing that concerns me about the money issue is whether I would save enough to exceed the amount spent on smart home devices. Even if not, I may not be dissuaded from following through on my smart home dreams. But not saving enough money would certainly give me pause. I would have to seriously consider my choice of devices.

    I Am a Tech Geek

Perhaps the biggest reason I want a smart home so much is rooted in the fact that I am a tech geek. I bought my first computer in the early 1980s. I have onlinebahisforum been writing code and building machines ever since. The thought of building my own home automation server and running a complete system from it intrigues me no end.

Thankfully, there are a number of open-source software packages now on the market. That would let me build my own system without having to surrender my sovereignty to Google, Amazon, etc. But going that route also means a lot more work on my end. I am up for it. This is the kind of thing I live for. telesup

Yes, sir. I really want to own a smart home. Perhaps I’ll be able to start working on making it a reality within the next year or so. Until then, I plan to continue researching and learning. I want to be fully prepared when it is time to build.
